KNX IP BAOS 777 Universal KNX IP Interface with Web Server and Visualization

The KNX IP BAOS 777 is a powerful universal device for KNX installations: thanks to the integrated web server, the device enables the visualization and control of buildings, rooms, and functions in a standard web browser on PCs or mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. The new integrated email function allows for individual notification to multiple recipients, for example, in case of status changes or alarms. The integration of a time and date server (NTP) enables automatic retrieval of time and date via the Internet and synchronization of your KNX installation. Extensive timing functions allow for the creation of a powerful KNX time switch with weekly function. Configuration is done exclusively with the ETS software – no proprietary software or tool is required.

In addition, the device offers the KNX IP interface (KNXnet/IP) function, for example, as a programming interface for ETS. Developers can access all functions via an API with BAOS RESTful web services. This allows the device to be used as an application-specific gateway, connecting the KNX bus to the existing IP infrastructure.

Configuration is done simply and consistently through the ETS parameter dialogs. The visualization is dynamically and automatically generated in the device after each download via bus or network. For example, alarms are now displayed via animated function icons and notification icons in the main view of the visualization.

Another new feature: a filter function allows for quick and targeted identification of individual functions and timers in the system. Email notifications now provide immediate information on the current status and changes of the KNX system. Easily configurable emails are sent whenever the selected data point value meets the configured condition. In the web interface, individual email notifications can be shown and hidden for a better overview. The current date and time of the device can be set manually or via an NTP (Network Time Protocol) server. With this function, the entire KNX installation can be supplied with manually set time or externally synchronized.

The KNX IP BAOS 777 can be used as an interface for the KNX bus at the telegram level. It is compatible with KNXnet/IP specifications and can be used as a bus interface for ETS® or other programs that support KNXnet/IP tunneling. It supports up to 8 simultaneous connections.
The KNX system is based on a special protocol that is difficult for non-KNX devices to implement.
