 Conversion between different Industrial Ethernet protocols and RS-485 Fieldbus networks (Modbus, BACnet, EtherNet/IP (CIP), Profinet, Metasys N2, etc.

 

The ETH-1000 Ethernet gateway allows information to be transferred between Ethernet networks or from Ethernet networks to RS-485 networks with minimal configuration requirements. The ETH-1000 can act as both an Ethernet converter and a serial RS-485 converter. All Ethernet and RS-485 Fieldbus protocols are included.

The ETH-1000 integrates an IEEE 802.3 10/100BaseT compliant Ethernet port and an RS-485 port (4-wire terminal block style). 
 The standard CAT5 Ethernet port accepts an 8-pin unshielded twisted pair (UTP) connector and supports multiple protocols simultaneously.
 The RS-485 port supports several protocols.

The ETH-1000 manages up to twenty individually configurable alarms. An action can be configured to occur upon a network timeout to allow each protocol to set its address database to a "fail-safe" condition in case of network interruption. 
 The embedded web server provides remote configuration, as well as a dashboard consisting of a variety of indicators, measuring instruments, and graphs that can be configured to provide a graphical overview of critical application variables in real-time. A total of ten indicators are available.

The ETH-1000 is a member of the ICC Millennium Series Gateway product family.
This family was designed to provide a uniform interface, giving the user familiarity during configuration and during runtime.

The ETH-1000 acts as a protocol converter/translator to allow complex data exchanges and enables bridging between otherwise incompatible networks. When properly configured, the gateway will be essentially "transparent" on the networks, and the various network devices can engage in seamless dialogues with each other.
